Visceral Manipulation Massage

Visceral manipulation is the process of massaging and manipulating deep tissue to improve the functioning of the various organs in the abdominal cavity.

Visceral manipulation is believed to increase circulation to the affected body parts and it is also used to remove adhesions that may restrict movement and cause discomfort. These adhesions often result in an increase in tension in the affected area of the body, leading to functional impairment of the organs. Massaging the visceral organs is also believed to help relieve physical and mental stress, and help strengthen the body's resistance to disease. I received my training in Visceral Manipulation Massage at Santa Barbara Bodyworks from instructor Matt Lynch, who trained under Osteopath, Jean-Pierre Barrel, D.O., a founder & author of Visceral Manipulation.

Client Testimonial
"Three and a half years ago, after my second c-section, my stomach did not feel normal.  I had a lot of scar tissue that was sensitive, and sometimes I had sharp pains.  Over the next year my digestive system became so sensitive that no matter what I ate, I was having bloated stomach, pain, and constipation.  In that time, I have gone to 5 primary doctors, 2 OBGYN doctors, 2 chiropractors, and 1 acupuncturist.  There was no change.  I was at a point where I felt no one would be able to figure out my problem and help me.

Ione has truly changed my life for the better.  After getting Visceral Manipulation Massage from Ione, I have had tremendous results.  I no longer have the sharp pains, and I am able to eat a normal, healthy diet again.  I rarely have bloated stomach, and my overall digestive system is back to normal.  If it wasn't for her, I don't know what I would have done."
